At the RCMP Pacific Region Training Centre in Chilliwack, B.C., four reporters get hands-on training with the Incident Management/Intervention Model. After learning how to fire guns and failing live-action scenarios, I contributed a sidebar, “This is (not) America: The influence of American media on Canadians’ perception of police.” This piece appeared on the cover of Whistler’s Pique Newsmagazine and won a Ma Murray award.
