COAST REPORTER
February 2021 - April 2024
The Sunshine Coast is accessed by either ferry or seaplane, and in that distance lies both its challenges and appeal.
For 3+ years, I reported for Coast Reporter, the lower Sunshine Coast’s newspaper of record. I covered the region from Langdale to Egmont (and several islands). Whether it’s local politics or marine protection or search and rescue efforts — and breaking news as it happens — I informed the community. And, of course, worked on the odd story about the legacy of the Beachcombers in its hometown.

During my month-long internship with CBC in London, England, I reported on the highly anticipated birth of the second Royal Baby, and its expected economic boost to the country.
Gander, Newfoundland, is most famously known for its hospitality in the aftermath of the 9/11 attacks. Here on a summer contract, I reported on its military history (awarding a dog for his service in WWII), the natural wonders (studying whales through social media, a bee keeper claiming his are the heartiest bees in the world), and hospitals using a robot baby to advance care.
